About the course (why this course?)    

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) prescribing skills training course is for you, so that you can think and prescribe what is best for your patient.

Inappropriate prescribing results in insufficient or delayed recovery, preventable harm/adverse drug reaction, increased cost and development of resistance to microbe. Prescribing skill has been outlined by National Medical Commission (NMC) as “Must Know” in its curriculum for Medical Graduates.

Dr. Balram Bhargava, Secretary to the Govt. of India, Dept. of Health Research and Director General-ICMR is delighted to launch this course on prescribing skills for Indian Medical Graduates (IMGs) and Registered Medical Practitioners (RMP).

What is unique? What will you learn?
This online computer/mobile phone-based course (which you can see at your convenience and speed) consists of 40 video lectures (Basic modules) and Elective modules which are practical case based, as per NMC curriculum, demonstrating specific skills, assignments and additional material for enhanced learning. It has been developed by experts of pharmacology, clinical disciplines, preventive social medicine specialists and interns of 15 ICMR Rational use of Medicines centers from top medical colleges all over India. It is vetted by ICMR Technical Advisory Group, Clinical experts from Delhi and Mumbai.
